New in the New YearThe CPD session we've created (opposite) is suitable for everyone with an interest in lived experience of emotional dysregulation. It incorporates policy around treating personality disorder, the evidence base of various treatment options, principles of person centred care and practical helping skills. The presentation uses personal narrative to suggest best practice helping approaches. The personality disorder service has agreed the content, it's been delivered to several teams in face-to-face settings and is free. Once you've viewed the session, you can fill in the feedback form opposite and we will contact your manager to let them know you've completed the training. Previous attendees said:"Peta recently gave a presentation to the Community Forensic team on Personality Disorder and Self-Harm. I am quite convinced it will remain one of the most inspirational and thought-provoking presentations I will ever experience in my clinical career. She was able to offer us a truly unique perspective on the topic which I consider to be invaluable. This includes both the perspective of a previous service user experiencing these difficulties herself combined with the academic and clinical perspective of a nursing student. She does this reflectively with individual examples of her experiences as a patient combined with an understanding developed later from the clinical and academic perspectives. Hence this is a presentation that I would recommend for both clinicians and service users alike. We can all learn from her experiences and I have no doubt that she will go on to have a hugely successful and influential career."
